ClearPoint High Definition Weather Service Features At Buenos Aires-Rio De Janeiro Race

Advanced Weather Information Will Track Every Mile of Thousand Mile Course

Buenos Aires, February 9, 2008 – ClearPoint Weather will provide a vital weather service over the next few days during the Offshore Race Rolex Buenos Aires - Rio de Janeiro race, covering 1123 miles of challenging sea conditions and major weather variations off the coasts of Argentina and Brazil.

“ClearPoint was a big hit at the Rolex South Atlantic race last month,” said Mr. Claudio Cambria, General Manager, Yacht Club de Argentina. ”We are looking forward to using ClearPoint again to track weather conditions throughout the race while key racers will be connecting to vital weather information over Iridium handsets with in-built GPS out at sea.  ClearPoint is a great service, whether you are planning tactics onshore, tracking changes in the Yacht Club, or competing fiercely out at sea,” said Mr. Cambria.

The Offshore Race Rolex Buenos Aires - Rio de Janeiro Race, which began in 1947, has endured as a classic race which takes place every three years and is organized jointly by the Yacht Club Argentino and the Yacht Club do Rio de Janeiro.  The race has attracted many well-known international ocean racers and their yachts over the years. The current record for the race belongs to the Brazilian Navy Academy's Cisne Branco that completed the entire course in 4 days, 18 hours, 52 minutes and 57 seconds.  For more information about the race, go to: http://www.yca.org.ar/Section.aspx?Id=361

Last month, ClearPoint helped the skipper/tactician, Pepe Bettini a world and national champion from Buenos Aires, Argentina, develop winning tactics and strategies at the South Atlantic Rolex Cup.  The Danish Sailing Association also relied on ClearPoint as a core weather source at the 470 World Championships Olympic class races and at the World Championships for Tornado and Laser Radials held at Takapuna Beach, New Zealand.
