First Woman to Manage an America's Cup Sailing Team and General Manager of the 2007 French AREVA Challenge to Use ClearPoint to Compete on Lake Michigan
Chicago, IL. June 13, 2008 - International sailboat racing champion Dawn Riley will be competing at the prestigious 2008 Chicago NOOD (National Offshore One Design) Regatta, using ClearPoint Weather, the world's most comprehensive marine weather service, to help her achieve a tactical advantage over other racers.
The event, which takes place from June 13-15, was created by Sailing World in 1988. The NOOD (National Offshore One-Design) regattas attract close to 2,000 boats and more than 30,000 competitors and spectators annually. Each event in the series features three days of sailboat racing for one-design models from 20 to 70 feet in length. In addition to local sailors, sailing's top stars, including Olympians and America's Cup Sailors such as Dawn Riley, are well-represented at the NOODs. Competitive sailors rate the NOODs as the top such regional regatta series across the country.

Dawn Riley was the first woman to manage an America's Cup sailing team and is the current CEO of the America True Foundation. Dawn is the first American to have raced on three America's Cup teams and two Whitbread Round-the-World Race sailing teams and is also past President of the Woman's Sports Foundation. She was General Manager of AREVA Challenge, the French America's Cup team for 2007. She captained the 2002 IC 45 World Champion, K Challenge 1, and was the first two-time winner of the Santa Maria Cup. Riley was also team captain of America3, the historic all-women America's Cup team in 1995. Dawn was a member of the winning America's Cup team, America3 in 1992. Off shore, she sailed on Morning Glory when they set the all time course record in the 1996 Sydney to Hobart ocean race, was watch captain of Maiden and skipper of Heineken, the all-women teams in the 89-90 and 93-94 Whitbread Round the World Races, and has raced the Chicago and Port Huron Mackinac Races over 30 times combined.
