New Predictive Weather Service Enters Partnership with GEPY, the French National Captain’s
Association
Paris, France - ClearPoint High Definition WeatherTM, the world’s most comprehensive and easy- to-use ultra-high resolution weather information service, will become the weather service reference for the next generation of sailors in France, thanks to an agreement between the U.S.-based company and Groupement des Equipages Professionels du Yachting (GEPY), the French association of captains and crew, based in Nice, France. The agreement represents a major milestone for ClearPoint Weather, and provides additional proof that the global service is the most reliable weather system available on the market today.
“ClearPoint is the easiest to use weather service on the market,” said M. Jean-Marie Lacarriere, Secretary General of GEPY and founding training instructor at the maritime training institute of Nice (INSEIT). “The service is also very easy to use, providing clear and precise information, based on more than 180 weather information sources. The interface is really intuitive, and displays more than 20 essential weather applications on one single screen. It is also easily accessible using any Internet connection, both on sea and on land. All these attributes have led to our decision to elect ClearPoint as our new weather service for our training sessions,” said M. Lacarriere.
The GEPY was founded in 2002 and brings together captains and crew members with a French or foreign (STCW) certificate. The association also gathers businesses related to sea-going yachting professionals whose occupation deals directly with the crews. The organization has about 400 members and is the only French captains’ organization of its kind in France for French crew members.
“We are delighted to see that top maritime professional associations such as GEPY are using and appreciating our service quality,” said Stuart Johnstone, Chief Operating Officer, ClearPoint. “We are committed to develop services to help the sailors worldwide to track the best itinerary based on the most accurate and complete weather sources available. We continue to work on our solutions with ambition to be the weather services’ reference for the next generation of sailors.”
ClearPoint is available in five versions, Basic, High Definition, Racing, Fishing and Premium Editions for all types of users of marine weather services. The ClearPoint team is this week at the Paris Boat Show, Hall 2.1 Stand D42, including Dawn Riley, former General Manager of the French Areva Americas Cup team who is the newly announced ambassador of the ClearPoint brand.
